Assign Scouts and Read Prospect Information
Scouting in Hockey Legacy Manager reveals more information about undrafted prospects before the draft. Assign each scout to a region and a group of prospects, or let the game assign your scouts. More scouting unlocks higher report tiers, including the prospect’s Povr at the highest tier.
Manually assign a scout
Section titled “Manually assign a scout”- Open Staff and find the scouts on your team.
- Select a scout, then choose Assign prospects.
- Select the region you want that scout to cover.
- Select prospects until the counter reaches that scout’s limit. Select top available fills the remaining spaces with the highest listed prospects who are not already covered.
- Select Set assignment.
The region badge shows the scout’s rating for the selected region. A scout can have different ratings in different regions, so check the badge before choosing where to send them.
The same prospect cannot be assigned to two scouts. If another scout is already covering a prospect, the game identifies that prospect as already scouted. Each scout also has a maximum number of prospects they can cover at once.
Automatically assign scouts
Section titled “Automatically assign scouts”Select Auto Assign above the scout list when you want the game to choose regions and prospects for your scouting staff. You can still open an individual scout afterward to review or change the selection.
Manual assignment is useful when you already know which undrafted prospects you want to follow. Automatic assignment is useful when you want broad coverage without choosing every prospect.
Read a scouting report
Section titled “Read a scouting report”Open an undrafted prospect’s profile to see the Scouting Report. Information appears as the prospect reaches higher scouting tiers:

Povr means projected overall. It gives you a single projected rating to compare with the other information in the report. It is a projection, so use it with the prospect’s motivation, player type, visible ratings, and expected draft position.
An undrafted prospect’s potential label is never shown, even after full scouting. The potential-related information available before the draft is motivation at tier 3 and Povr at tier 5. The potential and motivation guide explains how motivation affects the chance of reaching potential.
Use the information at the draft
Section titled “Use the information at the draft”Before your first pick, compare the reports you completed with the players still available. A higher scouting tier gives you more information; it does not guarantee how the player will develop. Use the draft guide to prepare your draft board and make your selections.
After a drafted player joins your organization, scouting no longer applies to that player. Their next steps are handled through training and the other player-development features. To change the size or quality of your scouting staff, use the coaching staff guide.
