Manage Injuries and Player Availability
HLM injuries make a player unavailable for games until recovery. Injury Reserve shows the injury, severity, recovery estimate, and progress. Replace the player in every affected lineup section, then review the lineup again when the player becomes healthy.
Read an injury
Section titled “Read an injury”Each current injury shows:
- The player and position
- The injury type
- Minor, Moderate, or Major severity
- An estimated recovery time
- Recovery progress and days missed
The recovery estimate is displayed as days, weeks, or months. The progress bar updates as the career advances.
| Severity | Visible effect |
|---|---|
| Minor | Lasts less than a month and has no overall penalty |
| Moderate | Lasts up to three months and may temporarily lower overall by one point |
| Major | Lasts at least three months, temporarily lowers overall by one point, and may permanently lower overall by one point |
Replace an injured player
Section titled “Replace an injured player”An injured player is moved out of the playable lineup. Open the lineup screen and fill the open position in the affected forward line, defensive pair, goalie section, power play, or penalty kill.
If the roster does not contain a suitable replacement, make the required roster change first. An injured player cannot be loaned to another league. The league setting for injury roster movement can let the AI make roster moves when one of your players is injured.
When the player recovers
Section titled “When the player recovers”Recovered players are removed from the injured list and become available again. Review your lineups, scratches, and goalies, then place the recovered player where you want them. This is especially important if another player filled their previous position during the injury.
Injury Reserve also includes the season’s injury history and summary. Use it to review injury dates, time missed, and any overall penalty recorded for each player.
Injury settings
Section titled “Injury settings”- Enable injuries turns injuries on or off for the career.
- Injury frequency adjusts how often injuries occur.
- Injury-notification settings can be configured separately for minor, moderate, and major injuries.
- Ignore injuries at career start clears existing roster injuries when a new career begins. It does not remove injuries after the career has started.
